Today, Paramedics from CUPE Local 1842 and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Service held the second half of our Hunger has no season food drive in support of Gleaners Food Bank and the Tri County Food Network.
Once again, the public came out with overwhelming support helping us collect 2099lbs of food and $955 in cash donations which surpassed our totals from our previous collection.
In total, Paramedics through generous donations were able to collect 4068lbs of food and $2050 in cash for Gleaners which will assist in ending their summer donation drought.
We along with Gleaners are very grateful for all the support and applaud our donors for stepping up to support local food banks and our communities. It was a pleasure to see the outpouring of support and to interact with the public even meeting those we have transported in our trucks or have first hand experience of the great service our local food banks provide.
On behalf of the Paramedics of CUPE Local 1842 we would like to say a big thanks for all the support. You helped make a difference in peoples lives.
* Those who took entries for the CUPE 1842 Colouring Contest are reminded to mail your submissions in for a chance to win a great Back to School Prize Pack. We are looking forward to seeing all your entries.
