The Provincial STEMI Hospital Bypass Protocol came into effect on February 1, 2017. The bypass protocol is now part of the BLS-PCS and is for both Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs) and Advanced Care Paramedics (ACPs).

This agreement with the interventional cardiology programs at both Kingston General Hospital and Peterborough Regional Health Center will allow Paramedics to bypass to these facilities if the STEMI Protocol criteria is met.
